LAURA MOSS and  BRENDAN J. O'BRIEN 

are NYC based filmmakers who have been making work together since 2009. Their shorts have won awards at SXSW, Tribeca, Palm Springs and the Melbourne International Film Festival. Their short film, ‘Fry Day’ is currently featured on the Criterion Channel.

Their work has been written about in Vulture, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair and Filmmaker Magazine, and has been cited in both the Zombie Movie Encyclopedia and the London Review of Books. They have been fellows at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center and the Sundance Screenwriters Labs.

 

Their first feature, 'birth/rebirth', a modern reimagining of the Frankenstein story, premiered at Sundance in 2023 and was recently nominated for three Film Independent Spirt Awards. 

 

It was released in theaters in August 2023 and is now available for streaming on Shudder and AMC+.
